Thunderhill Raceway Park turns into a three-day grassroots motorsports festival.
What’s going down:
– Road Racing: heat race format + winner-take-all prizes.
– Grassroots Drift Comp: brought to life by Matt Field & Drift Cave.
– Evenings that actually deliver: live music, good hangs, no sad BBQs or warm beer.
New Thunderhill Traditions with a wink:
Green winners jackets, tongue-in-cheek judging, and trophy ceremonies that feel half-Augusta/Caddyshack, half-motorsport. Just relax, it’ll be fun.
Special Road Racing Format
Being that most of what we’re doing is pretty non-traditional, we figured — why not do the same with the format? We’ve always loved the heat-based structures popular in karting and dirt series across the country.
Here’s what to expect:
– A single practice session on Saturday morning
– Four heat races through the weekend
– Heat 1 starts with a random grid. Finish position sets Heat 2 grid.
– Heat 2 finishing position sets Heat 3 grid.
– Heat 3 finishing position sets the grid for the Main.
– Main The weekend podium is based on the Main finishing position
Heat races will be 8 laps (not time-based), and the Main is scheduled for 12 laps.
A Friday test day will be available as an add-on option during registration.
